Application Requirements for Regular International Students

Here, you can find out about FCE undergraduate and graduate requirements, important dates, and the documents you need to present on your academic background to apply to the FCE.

Procedures

Individuals who wish to apply to the FCE can do so by visiting our website and submitting their request online. Applicants will be contacted via email or telephone for further details.

General Eligibility Requirements

The following list of application requirements holds true for all applicants aiming to be admitted as regular students:

  1. No legal prohibition from attending an institute of higher education.
  2. Endorsement by the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in the country from which the applicant is applying or The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  3. Certification of mental and physical health by medical professionals recognized by the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran and the University of Isfahan.
  4. Submission of previous educational degrees and transcripts verified by competent authorities.
  5. Proficiency in English or Persian.

Note: Undergraduate classes are in Persian while graduate programs are all in English.

Note: Persian language proficiency may be demonstrated in one of two ways:

  1. Foreign applicants having undergraduate degrees from domestic institutes are automatically accepted.
  2. Other applicants must undertake a proficiency test administered by an accredited Persian language teaching center in the country.

Specific Eligibility Requirements

Specific admission requirements vary by degree and department. The following are required for applicants at each level:

  1. Undergraduate Degrees
    1. High school diploma verified by competent authorities
    2. Minimum GPA of 12.0 and earning at least a 12.0 average in four relevant courses.

  2. Masters Degrees
    1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and verified by competent authorities.
    2. Minimum GPA of 12.0 and earning at least a 13.0 average in six relevant courses.
    3. Evaluation by the individual department in which the applicant intends to register on the basis of prior academic performance.
    4. Proof of English language proficiency for applicants whose first language is not English.

    Note: All applicants whose first language is not English must take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum TOEFL Internet-based score of 90 or IELTS score of 6.5 is required by the FCE.


  3. Doctoral Degrees
    1. Master’s Degree from an accredited institution and verified by competent authorities.
    2. Minimum GPA of 14.0.
    3. Evaluation by the individual department in which the applicant intends to register on the basis of prior academic performance.
    4. Proof of English language proficiency for applicants whose first language is not English.

    Note: All applicants whose first language is not English must take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum TOEFL Internet-based score of 90 or IELTS score of 6.5 is required by the FCE.

Deadlines

All applicants must submit their request until 20 December, 2022.

Documents

  1. Official records and transcripts of previous degrees verified by competent authorities.
  2. Note: If the applicant has previously studied in a country other than the Islamic Republic of Iran, all records and transcripts need to be translated by a certified translation office and verified by the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in the respective country.
  3. Photocopy of the applicant’s passport.
  4. Photocopy of the applicant’s Evidence of Residence

Fees

 Students from Afghanistan, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Palestine receive a twenty-percent discount on their tuition.

The following conditions apply:

  1. Tuition payments are to be made in Iran Rial (IRR) calculated according to the exchange rates announced by Central Bank of Iran.
  2. All student who take leaves of absence are expected to pay one third of the tuition for their semester.
  3. Students withdrawing from the program are penalized by 10 percent of their advance payments and one third of the semester tuition.
  4. Living expenses such as housing, food, and insurance are not included in the tuition fees.
